Our Purpose and Mission

Our Purpose: The Palm Tree of Deborah is a Biblical Education, Worship and Pastoral Counseling Center.  We are called to be lifelong learners, i. e.  disciples of Christ and worshipers. Our Pastor is called to teach the word of God and support biblical families.

Our mission is to: Know God and Make Him Known. We are worshipers who get to know God by studying His word and by experiencing Him through worship.  We are lifelong learners  i.e. disciples of Jesus Christ. We invite you to join us on this exciting lifelong transformational journey .

Who is welcome?

All are welcome. We are a loving and supportive body of believers.

15 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. 16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

The New King James Version (Nashville: Thomas Nelson, 1982),  Ro 3:23–24 Jn 3:15-17.

Come as you are but, expect to be transformed!

In 2000, our pastor was lead to begin a para-church ministry called the Palm Tree of Deborah. Pastor Vee, created and taught in an award-winning Pre-GED/GED program inside an inner-city church. Pastor Vee used the $5000 grant she won as woman philanthropist of the year to officially establish the Palm Tree of Deborah  Ministries.  The Palm Tree of Deborah Ministries hosted a mobile food pantry before establishing one in the Decatur, GA church location.

Over the years the Palm Tree of Deborah many people have been led to Christ. The Palm Tree of Deborah has been involved in community outreaches, fed the homeless, served in and supported, victims of domestic violence, the homeless, supported foster children, and adoptive children and parents.

Pastor Vee was on sabbatical after taking care of an elderly parent or 10 yrs. In February 2020 the Lord led Pastor Vee to resume the teaching ministry inviting one of the original members to join her. The ministry was just getting started when the Covid-19 hit. Out of an abundance of caution Pastor, Vee created emergency Covid -19 kits for her members which included mask and some other essential PPE items and moved the Bible Studies and Services to teleconferences and then to Zoom.

The Palm Tree of Deborah on Zoom has hosted people from Texas, Georgia, Kentucky, Chicago and the United Kingdom. To God be the glory! We are just getting started! Join us and become a life-long learner (disciple) of Jesus Christ too.
